Space4Climate Agriculture Market Breakthrough Showcase, London, 10am-3pm, January 26th

A showcase from one of the two S4C Market Breakthrough Funding Phase 2 projects, to the agriculture sector with a few places available for members to join at Geovation, where we have previously hosted the Members’ Conference. It is presented by the collaborators, led by Pixalytics and will discuss how satellite imagery-based solutions can be used within the agriculture sector. In the audience will be agronomists, farmers and consultants. Both projects are working on removing barriers to the take-up of EO data by end users. The event will help to shape recommendations from the project and outline key actions. Register here.

Empowering a Decade – briefing on Horizon Europe funding for the Ocean Decade, 12-1pm GMT, January 26th

Led by the UK National Decade Committee with partner NDCs, the IOC-UNESCO and the European Commission to raise awareness about the funding opportunity and how to engage with it, share ideas on how the opportunity can best be used to support the Decade, and provide a space for interested parties to connect. Space-Comm Europe, March 4th-5th

CMIP26, Kyoto, Japan, March 9th-13th

The conference will discuss latest developments in Earth system and coupled modelling, leveraging the wealth of the CMIP6 analyses and explore updated forcings and early results from CMIP7 simulations, including new experimental designs and model intercomparison projects (MIPs). Find out more.

Machine Learning for Earth System Observation and Prediction (ML4ESOP) Workshop, Italy, April 13th-17th

Together with the ECMWF-UK team, ESA Φ-lab will be running the 5th edition of the ML4ESOP workshop in Bologna. It aims to explore the fusion of traditional ESOP techniques with machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) methods. It seeks to showcase the impact achieved through this fusion, while also addressing the remaining challenges that need further exploration. The presenters will show their contributions to this field and engage the attendees in discussions to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject. The workshop strongly welcomes industry to demonstrate their commercial lenses for ML4ESOP applications. More details on the course.

The call for themes and workshop proposals is open. Organised by the National Centre for Earth Observation with the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation (CEOI) and Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society, the conference will cover EO instrument and platform technology development through to data analysis, calibration, validation and knowledge extraction to policy engagement. Content suggestions can cover emerging scientific priorities, evolving challenges and areas where interdisciplinary engagement can add significant value.
