Space4Climate’s quick guide to 17 climate satellite missions, some are on their way to a launchpad, others are awaiting a launch slot & more are in development

The May 2024 launch of EarthCARE signalled the start of a series of climate satellite launches in the following months and year. Here (right) Space4Climate has compiled a useful quick guide to those involving UK and European expertise.  Many are led by the European Space Agency of which the UK is a member country.

For each satellite we have created a short summary, and included its estimated launch date, the mission partners, some of the key UK and European industry and scientific contributors, likely launch site and added links to further information. Click on the image in the side bar (right) to read the list.

These details are constantly changing, being added to and updating so please let us know of any out-of-date information by emailing Space4Climate@reading.ac.uk
