Space4Climate Agriculture Market Breakthrough Showcase, London, 10am-3pm, January 26th

A showcase from one of the two S4C Market Breakthrough Funding Phase 2 projects, to the agriculture sector with a few places available for members to join at Geovation, where we have previously hosted the Members’ Conference. It is presented by the collaborators, led by Pixalytics and will discuss how satellite imagery-based solutions can be used within the agriculture sector. In the audience will be agronomists, farmers and consultants. Both projects are working on removing barriers to the take-up of EO data by end users. Geography in practice: mapping habitat change with Living England, webinar, 11am-12noon, February 24th

Natural England will give an overview of how the Living England habitat mapping project harnesses Earth Observation data, AI and extensive field data collection to start mapping important habitat changes across England. The project provides valuable, openly available data on England’s broad habitat types. While more detailed maps exist for some habitats and areas, Living England distinctively offers spatially continuous, broad habitat data, free for all to use. European Ocean Days, Brussels, March 2nd-6th

FLEX Fluorescence Workshop, Germany, March 3rd-6th

Register by February 24th to her about the upcoming FLEX satellite mission, the data it will produce and potential applications. FLuorescence EXplorer (FLEX) is an ESA Earth Explorer mission that will provide global maps of vegetation fluorescence that can reflect photosynthetic activity and plant health and stress. Launch is planned in early September with Sentinel-3C. S4C members Thales Alenia Space are the prime contractor.

Space-Comm Europe, March 4th-5th

Changes for this year include a more international angle and a Space Tech and Applications Conference is included, and entry to this is via the Conference Pass ticket option. It is now presented in partnership by Space-Comm and ADS to showcase dual use of space including security and aiming for a pan-European and international audience.

CMIP26, Kyoto, Japan, March 9th-13th

The conference will discuss latest developments in Earth system and coupled modelling, leveraging the wealth of the CMIP6 analyses and explore updated forcings and early results from CMIP7 simulations, including new experimental designs and model intercomparison projects (MIPs). Find out more.

With an ITT on the cards, find all about the new ESA Stepping Stones which aims to ‘accelerate the maturation and deployment of new space-based observation capabilities by reducing technical, programmatic, and adoption risks along the pathway from mission concept to mature, commercially viable services’. 1st EarthCARE MAAP Hackathon, Italy, April 20th-24th

Marking the EarthCARE satellite’s second anniversary this is an opportunity for experts and non-experts alike, to collaborate, share insights, become more familiar with EarthCARE data, and help improve the MAAP analysis and data platform in a hands-on week of coding to better understand our Earth’s atmosphere. There will be a focus on making high-quality data resources readily available to users without additional complications, so that researchers can dedicate themselves to the science and not the tools. Climate Neutrality Forum 2026, Brussels, May 28th-29th

Copernicus Thematic Workshop on Climate Risks for Insurance and Finance, Brussels and online, June 1st

Explore how Earth Observation can support the financial and Insurance sectors in understanding, assessing, and managing climate-related risks. This is one of a series of Copernicus workshops, and will provide a platform for dialogue between financial institutions, insurers, reinsurers, policymakers, researchers, and Earth Observation service providers. It will demonstrate how Copernicus EO data and services can address real-world challenges in risk assessment, regulatory reporting, and climate resilience, while guiding the evolution of Copernicus services to better meet sector-specific needs. EXtremes and Rare Events in Climate and related applications, Reading and online, June 15th-16th , Registration is closed

ExREC is funded by the University of Reading Centre for the Mathematics of Planet Earth (CMPE) and the London Mathematical Society. It is aimed at climate scientists with an interest in extreme and rare events, such as heat waves, droughts, flooding, and tipping elements, as well as mathematicians and statisticians. The two main objectives of the event are to:

  • Identify extreme events and tipping elements in climate science where mathematical methods, including advanced Monte Carlo methods can create significant advantages

ECMWF 2026 Workshop on Machine Learning for Land and Hydrology, Reading, November 3rd-5th

Experts in machine learning, hydrology, and land-surface modelling will discuss the development and use of ML-based and ML-enhanced forecasting systems. It will focus on datasets, methods, applications, and evaluation strategies for machine-learning approaches, covering fully data-driven, hybrid, and physics-informed models. Contributions will span both global and regional perspectives, addressing ML-based prediction of streamflow, floods, soil moisture, and key land-surface processes, with an emphasis on robustness, scalability, and operational relevance. Global Forests Earth Observations Initiative (GFOI), Rome, November 3rd-5th

GFOI Country forum: A south-south knowledge exchange (GFOI SSX) is being held by GFOI and the Accelerating Innovative Monitoring for Forests (AIM4Forests) programme, at the HQ of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The programme will feature three parallel streams:
