Funding alert: Space4Climate Market Breakthrough Open Collaboration Opportunity

News  |  27 June, 2023

Join the online briefing, Friday, July 7th, 9.30am-12.30pm

We have launched a new-style opportunity for funding for a collaborative initiative with the aim of making a difference to the whole Earth Observation for climate community, for the benefit of the global response to climate change.

As a non-commercial organisation spanning government, industry and academia, we have designed the S4C  funding opportunity call to inspire members and non-members, space and non-space organisations, of all sizes, to collaborate to break down barriers to the take-up of climate services, products and tools.

Who can apply for funding?

The Space4Climate Market Breakthrough Open Collaboration Opportunity is open to all relevant organisations – researchers, NGOs, private and public sector, and end users, as collaborations, to break down key challenges faced across 4 key sectors:

  • Sustainable Finance
  • GHG Emissions
  • Net Zero 1: Agriculture
  • Net Zero 2: Energy

Breaking down barriers for benefit of all

There continues to be high technological and commercial barriers to adoption across public and private sectors and it is imperative to address these to accelerate uptake of climate data and services for global climate and Net Zero action.

Our call will fund up to four collaborations with up to £75,000 each (incl VAT). Book for our online briefing on July 7th to learn more about the opportunity and to network with like-minded organisations to get involved in collaborations. The briefing will provide further information, the opportunity to ask questions and to discuss ideas for each theme and to build collaborations for the bid. The application process will then be detailed on our website.

We encourage you to join online with colleagues and with other external organisations (they don’t have to be members or in the space sector) and we look forward to seeing you on July 7th. Book here. If you have any questions about the briefing, please email Space4Climate@reading.ac.uk
