Prof Chris Mutlow, Director of RAL Space, showcases the range of space-related science and technology work undertaken by the space department of the STFC.

Current projects to be discussed include:

  • novel laser heterodyne sensors flown as part of European Space Agency – ESAs first small-satellite missions
  • observation of recent volcanic eruptions in Tonga
  • contributions to the James Webb Space Telescope
  • the new National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF)
