S4c at National Climate Change & Net Zero Conference

Events  |  30 January, 2026

Space4Climate will be addressing the audience at the National Climate Change and Net Zero Conference, directly raising public sector awareness of the uses of satellite data, where and how to access it.

We will share insights and actionable examples of how products and services based on satellite imagery can be used in resilience decision-making and strategies to achieve Net Zero targets.

The one-day conference is being held online on February 24th and the audience will be mostly drawn from the public sector.

Our panel’s title is ‘Utilising Earth Observation to Inform Resilience Decision-Making and Strategies to Achieve Net Zero’.

Our speakers will be:

We will open by setting the landscape of climate capabilities in the UK, data from space applications relevant to regional and local authorities, wider public sector, what freely accessible tools are available today and a glimpse into emerging resources.

Audiences will be given sources for practical, independent expertise at regional and local level, including Regional Space Clusters, academic connections and the UK Space Agency’s Unlocking Space programmes.

Practical insights and resources

Panellists will highlight open access data and mapping resources for monitoring, early warning and management of water resources, environment and biodiversity restoration and showcase how they support wider government and local authorities.

Examples will include UKCEH’s collaborations regionally and nationally and GHGSat’s methane emissions monitoring for reporting and action across landfills, wastewater and downstream oil and gas monitoring services.

Other speakers at the conference include Annie Pickering of Climate Emergency UK; Leon DeBell, Woodland Carbon Code Monitoring Advisor at Scottish Forestry and Leslie Addo of Catapult Energy Systems.

The conference is organised by Government Events and aimed at local authorities, climate change specialists, transport and energy providers and more.
